Handcrafted, unique & beautiful leather products.
Hello and welcome. I am Lucy. The founder and owner of LJ Leatherwork.
I am proud to be following in the footsteps of my Grandfather John Pegg of Drew and Sons Piccadilly, London and as such I am now one of the few leatherworkers remaining that is still employing the traditions of hand crafting leather, traditions that once made the UK world renowned in leather products.
Drew and Sons was formed circa 1914 and was known for bags, cases, trunks and other leather goods and was world renowned and still to this day Drew and Son products command a princely sum at auction. It's inspiring how the history of your family (even those you have never met) can inspire you to keep a tradition alive. LJ Leatherwork brings traditional leather crafts to modern products.
Having ridden horses for over 40 years, I have been around the best quality leather and know the importance of quality and how to care for it. A few years ago, having broken too many bones to mention, it was time to retire .
Given my appreciation of excellent leatherwork in saddles and bridles I embarked on a leatherwork course. Once completed I spent a year practising and honing my hand stitching skills (making many expensive mistakes along the way)
My products have been widely appreciated by those in the British Country Sports community. The quality resonates with those that shoot, hunt, ride and fish but also by golfers and the outdoor community at large.
